Audiobook refinement implementation evidence

Status: Implementation complete; scoped acceptance complete with the verification limits below. Implements the approved audiobook and shared component plan. Sol owns architecture and acceptance; Luna workers own implementation. This report records actual checks rather than accepting the earlier player screenshots as evidence for this pass. Earlier rejected checks remain in the ledger as history; the final results in this section establish current acceptance.

October 3 follow-up: balanced controls and direct interactions

The latest owner review supersedes the earlier popup highlight and window-header acceptance. The updated experience is:

  1. Every player utility uses the same transparent resting appearance and bounded 44px interaction highlight. Speed and Sleep align with their neighboring icons on the dock, popup and phone. Labeled layouts keep text outside the highlight (WP1/WP4: shared icon, strip and select recipes).
  2. The popup has no extra window-control toolbar. Its native window closes it; the remaining context-panel close dismisses only that panel (WP4: popup host).
  3. Sleep remains icon-only, including on hover. Its menu separates Off, timed choices and chapter-end choices; chapter options have icons and concise wording, without source chapter names (WP5: canonical sleep chooser and shared select).
  4. Mute takes the actual audio volume and slider to zero, then restores the previous positive level on the next click. Changing the slider to a positive value unmutes immediately (WP2/WP7: one active native transport owner).
  5. Title and contributor links respond across their text targets, without a seek slider intercepting part of them. Their resting text remains unadorned and their hover/focus treatment is immediate (WP1/WP2: bounded identity targets).

The first follow-up solution build passed with zero warnings/errors in 40.89s. The first Web cohort had 1,468 passes and one stale CSS assertion failure; that assertion was updated to the accepted 44px video header recipe without removing its layout checks. The corrected cohort passed all 1,469 tests. The subsequent phone check exposed left-aligned selects and a roughly 2px icon-baseline difference, which were corrected in the shared layout. The added interaction checks initially produced 1,469 passes and two stale assertions about visible chapter names and the location of shared select styling. Their repairs retain selected-owner, availability, accessible status and hero geometry assertions; the integrated cohort passes all 1,471 tests.

Live verification caught two separator rendering defects before acceptance: full-width dividers plus their inset margins caused horizontal overflow, and MudSelect's shadow child tree painted divider instances beneath the closed Sleep trigger. The accepted width correction accounts for both margins without hiding menu content. Divider instances now display only inside the menu portal; the shadow instances have zero geometry. Final closed/open screenshots confirm both corrections. Earlier screenshots containing stray trigger dividers are diagnostic only.

The final popup at 1408×792 has no window toolbar or window-close action. Its two panes both begin at y=21, have height=750 and end at y=771. Five interaction paints measure 44×44px with an 8px radius; the four glyphs are 22px, share center y=694.656px and have equal slot spacing. Visible resting Speed/Sleep layers are transparent, selected History uses the same purple paint as open/focused controls, and keyboard focus adds one ring. Hidden native select inputs may retain a computed form-field background but do not paint. Opening/focusing Sleep shifts both panes upward by 28px to y=-7; their heights remain equal and the menu and context close remain visible. This does not establish unchanged popup scroll geometry.

The final phone at 429×928 centers all five utility slots at x=51.5, 130.49, 209.5, 288.49 and 367.5px. Every visual begins at y=785.297px and measures 44×44px; all four glyphs share center y=807.297px. Visible labels begin 4px below the paint. Focused Chapters uses the same rgba(139,92,246,.14) paint, 8px radius and one 2px focus outline with a 2px offset. The earlier phone screenshot without final is diagnostic evidence, not acceptance.

The final Sleep portal contains exactly two visible nonselectable separators. Each row is 44px high; chapter choices are exactly End of chapter and End of next chapter, with one icon each. Its inner list has clientWidth=scrollWidth=238px, so there is no horizontal overflow. The closed, actually hovered trigger retains a transparent underlying Off value and a 44×44px target. Title and author targets receive pointer hit tests at their upper, lower and middle points; neither is intercepted by the seek slider. Resting links have no underline, and keyboard focus on Andy Weir immediately produces the purple underline.

Live mute verification observes slider 0.15 → 0 → 0.15 and matching native muted false → true → false. Moving the muted zero slider to 0.05 unmutes. The browser's read-only media proxy exposes native muted/paused but not the native volume property; a directly observed native volume value is not claimed. Source review confirms both audio and video owners call native setVolume and setMuted before publishing canonical state, and the passing controller tests cover remembered positive volume, zero observations, legacy muted restore and ordered queued toggles. Remembered audible volume is session-local; no new persisted field was introduced.

Follow-up final gate Result
Web and test-project build Passed, zero warnings/errors, 2.39s. The earlier full solution build also passed.
Full Web tests 1,471 passed, zero failed or skipped (highlight-2026-10-03-final-web.trx).
Live desktop, popup and phone Requested alignment, highlight, closed/open Sleep and link-hit checks accepted by root and Sol; popup focus-scroll and native-volume observation limits recorded above.
JavaScript Unchanged in this follow-up; the earlier 46/46 result remains applicable.
Strict documentation build Passed after the follow-up report and architecture notes were updated, 5.62s.

Evidence uses the highlight-2026-10-03- prefix under tools/reports/audiobook-refinement-2026-10-02/; final captures include wide-final, sleep-final, sleep-hover-final, popup-final, popup-sleep-final, phone-final, phone-focus-final, volume-final and links-final. Temporary viewport overrides are reset and verification tabs are closed. The normal launcher leaves the application running. Chapter 29 remains paused at 0:00 with volume zero and speed 1.75x; no timer, new bookmark or deletion was performed in this follow-up. Earlier broad-suite failures and native separate-window limits below remain recorded; this follow-up does not claim a green full solution test suite.

Earlier acceptance and limits

The dock and popout now use darker surfaces and a common thin 22px utility icon set. The dock has centered controls, right-aligned window actions and a seek bar that grows with the available width. Speed has one scrolling choice list. Bookmarks opens directly above its desktop button and uses a bounded bottom sheet on a phone. The popup has one outer frame and equal-height player/context panes. Sleep, captured bookmarks with notes, replay, sidebar replacement and retirement of duplicate components are implemented.

Final live evidence uses the real Project Hail Mary library item, its managed artwork and its 32 source-authored segments. At 1920×1080 CSS pixels, the dock is 83.99px high, the utility/window glyphs are 21.99px with 1.5px strokes, links have no resting underline, and the detail-page seek is 1737.13px wide. The two scroll owners are the page and the independent chapter sidebar. The desktop bookmark dialog is 360×480px, begins at the exact button's x-coordinate and ends 8px above it. See wp7-final-wide.json, .jpg and wp7-final-bookmark-anchor.json, .jpg.

The public popup at 1280×720 has player and context panes both at y=53, height=646, bottom=699. Its inner player has no border, background frame or shadow. Play has a 48px target, and the utilities remain 22px. The final asset-aware projection correctly shows Chapter 29 · 32 chapters, its local 43% recording position and a separate cumulative Book progress value of 56123.591/58256 seconds. It no longer selects Outro from unrelated zero-based asset timelines. See wp7-final-popup-projection.json and wp7-final-popup.jpg.

Final gate Result
Solution build Passed, zero warnings/errors, 31.53s.
Full Web tests 1,469 passed, zero failed; includes actual-layout invalidation, captured replay and asset-aware projection fixtures.
JavaScript syntax and tests Passed; 46 tests passed.
Settings class isolated after suite setup failure Six passed, zero failed (wp7-settings-isolated.trx).
Full solution tests 4,667 passed, 21 failed, 34 skipped. This is a failed broad gate, not a green solution suite.
Scoped contract review All 67 Playback shape sections, 51 Playback wire sections and 12 applicable client method rows match generated actuals; unrelated fixture content is preserved.
Duplicate/retired caller audit Zero active retired workspace or lossy bookmark-client references; one shared bookmark dialog and one shared sleep chooser serve the supported hosts.
Strict documentation build Passed after the completion report was updated.

The full solution results are recorded in wp7-accepted-solution-summary.json and the corresponding TRX directory; the directory name does not mean every test passed. The remaining failures are four Contracts checks for broader Artwork/Collections/audience and exported inventory drift, two Domain shared-helper guardrails, four Storage schema/pipeline/execution checks, one Provider TV still check, and ten API checks. Nine API failures concern provider/settings, ingestion, operations and SQL boundaries. The tenth is a disposed SQLite handle during the settings test constructor, before any service method runs; the same class subsequently passes all six checks in isolation. Concurrent global pool cleanup is a suspected cause, not proven. No pre-task full-suite baseline was established, and unrelated fixtures or source were not broadly approved to hide these failures.

The connected browser cannot create a native separate window or supply real touch swipe events. Popup composition is verified through its public route; native popup command authority is covered by automated host/bridge checks and remains unverified as a live separate-window journey. Phone layout and visible confirmed-deletion alternatives pass; actual swipe behavior is covered by gesture tests, not claimed as a physical gesture. The movie used for shared icon verification still requires technical inspection, so that check verifies controls rather than video transport. Minute timer deadlines pass automated monotonic checks; no live 15-minute wait is claimed.

The application is left running through its normal launcher. The user's tab returns to Listen with Chapter 29 paused near 15:48, at 1.75x, volume 1 and muted. Two QA bookmarks remain; no existing bookmark or media was permanently deleted, and no library reset was performed. A brief unqualified History row observed during replay disappeared on settled refresh; qualified history remained and native playback matched Chapter 29. That transient row is not evidence of a durable history write or acceptance of every possible history boundary.

Product experience being delivered

The audiobook dock will use darker chrome, a smaller play button with breathing room, aligned bare tools and direct volume, bookmark, sleep and Now Playing access. Chapters and History will replace each other in one sidebar. A single page scroll area and an independent sidebar scroll area will keep the background and final rows reachable. Speed and Sleep will use simple choices. Bookmarks will open one Add/Saved dialog with optional notes, replay and confirmed deletion across desktop and phone.

Alignment correction during verification

The current short, zoomed view exposed a layout failure. The corrected experience keeps the app header across the full window, gives the page a bounded area to scroll, and keeps the dock below both page and drawer (WP3). When too little width remains, the dock grows into readable rows for identity, independently centered playback, and the complete right-aligned tool group with its window actions (WP2/WP4). Every tool stays available. Acceptance measures the visible glyphs as well as their button targets; equal button sizes alone do not establish alignment.

The owner also requested smaller, less bold icons. The shared correction uses approximately 22px lighter outline tools/window actions and smaller dock skip rings, preserving the 44px clickable areas. Phone full-player and cinematic video transport remain separately sized; popup Play is being reduced (WP1/WP2/WP4).

The latest popup review extends that correction: direct popup tools will use compact icons without visible Sleep/History labels, and the oversized popup Play button will be reduced. Artwork and identity remain readable; accessible names/tooltips remain available. This is included in the remaining host integration and visual gate.

The owner subsequently requested one icon set across all players. The next shared-control cutover uses one thin outline glyph renderer and bare tool treatment for audio/video/full/phone/popup utilities. The distinct Play/pause and skip controls remain transport controls; visible utility circles are retired across those hosts.

The latest placement review reopens dock acceptance for the updated target: the complete utility group is right-justified, Popout/Close move to its far-right end, and seek width grows with available window width. The earlier alignment metrics remain evidence for sizing and baselines, but do not accept this revised placement.

Baseline observations

Actual CSS desktop viewport was 1920×1080; phone was 390×844. The browser has device pixel ratio 1.1, so the provider's requested sizes differ from the measured CSS sizes. Evidence records the measured values.

The existing dock measured approximately 96px high, with a #15273B/#102034 gradient. Only Speed and Chapters were direct audiobook tools; the remaining tools used More. The sidebar repeated an Audiobook context header and stack controls. The desktop had three vertical scroll owners: the outer playback content, the detail route shell and the chapter panel body.

Baseline captures and measured geometry are in tools/reports/audiobook-refinement-2026-10-02/. The actual library book is Project Hail Mary with 32 source-authored segments. Source titles and managed artwork remain actual data.

Development state lifecycle

Read-only inspection confirmed the active development bookmark table had no Note column and zero rows. After a clean build and passing repository checks, root explicitly replaced only that empty obsolete table using the canonical fresh DDL. The zero count was rechecked inside the transaction. Protected counts were unchanged: 123 works, 479 media assets, one profile, 19 listening history rows, 95 consumption rows and one playback settings row. Evidence is bookmark-schema-cutover.json. No runtime ALTER, migration or backfill was added; original media was untouched.

After the production cutover compiled and the API preference checks passed, root verified both hosts were stopped and removed only contextWorkspaces from the one obsolete development settings row. Every other JSON value, the row timestamp and all protected record counts were unchanged. Evidence is sidebar-preference-cutover.json. This explicit development operation did not add an application reset route or compatibility adapter.

Retirement audit

This is the completed scoped caller audit. Evidence is wp7-retirement-audit.json and the contract fixture preservation review.

Replaced path Canonical destination Final caller audit
Stacked workspace DTOs, ratios, collapse/reorder/split/reset methods and CSS One selected context sidebar with profile/device/media preference Former workspace component/state/preferences deleted; no active source/test references to retired workspace or stack commands in the scoped search. Live replacement and independent scroll pass.
Instant bookmark Add/Delete in the bar and workspace; duplicate popup Saved lists Shared captured Add/Saved dialog and guarded action service Shared dialog is used by dock/full/phone and popup. Three unused lossy Web API wrappers are removed; backend endpoints and outcome-aware client methods remain. Actual main/phone capture, preview, note, save, replay and deletion cancellation pass.
Private popup command copies Contracts-owned current wire command Shared Contracts command declarations are authoritative. Unused bookmark payload property, CancelSleepTimer constant and Web SleepTimerGeneration declaration removed.
Old sleep sliders, steppers, resets and per-host UI wrappers One flat chooser and captured controller arm Shared control catalog routes applicable hosts to the same chooser; no former slider/stepper UI remains. Actual current EOF and next-target scheduler stop/Off checks pass.
Dynamic current-chapter fallback and early boundary expiry Verified immutable current/next chapter target Exact captured target, request and native source guard in the owner; single native ended dispatcher. Actual target remains fixed across chapter progression; no early tolerance.
Speed slider/presets/stepper and rounding or popup cap Central exact-rate dropdown and contract Central AppSelect recipe owns the only menu scroll list, exact rate and selected check; live desktop and popup composition accepted.
Nested Ingestion aside and competing page/sidebar scroll owners Layout-owned shared sidebar slot and one scroll owner per region Live run-item selection uses one non-nested layout aside; close preserves the run/view URL. Page/aside end and scroll ownership verified.
Tests asserting retired UI recipes Behavior and current rendering checks Old stack, slider, immediate-add and duplicated Saved expectations removed or replaced with behavior/state/rendering checks; full Web passes 1,469 tests. Streaming guardrails now classify the shared typed stream reader without adding wire debt.

Verification ledger

  • Final full solution cohort: 4,667 passed, 21 failed, 34 skipped (wp7-accepted-solution-summary.json). Contracts passes 69 checks; the three retired restore-reader expectations are repaired and the four broader fixture/audience failures remain. The API settings constructor has a SQLite disposal failure in the concurrent cohort; its isolated class passes 6/6 with no source change. All failure classifications and live verification limits are retained in Final acceptance above.
  • Final live projection and geometry pass: Chapter 29's exact native asset/local time, real 32-chapter count and separate cumulative Book progress appear in the frameless equal-height popup. Wide dock utilities are 22px, the seek expands, only the page and sidebar scroll, and Bookmarks opens 8px above its button. Normal runtime is left running and temporary tabs/viewport overrides are removed. Evidence uses the wp7-final- prefix.
  • Scoped snapshot preservation review passes: 67/67 Playback shape blocks and 51/51 wire blocks match raw actuals; all non-Playback sections are byte-identical to the original. Only the nine dependent playback client rows and three outcome-bearing bookmark replacements change. Approved exported count is 844, not the unrelated current total 906. Source and fixtures remain frozen; no broad snapshot refresh is accepted.
  • Final shared projection solution build passes with zero warnings/errors (31.53s). Full Web passes 1,469/0 (wp7-final-web.trx), including the exact MainLayout invalidator/close/focus fixture and asset-aware book projection. JavaScript remains 46/46 from the frozen native source. Strict documentation passes (4.38s). Raw contract generation runs only the three maintainer snapshot checks, copies their actual output and restores all three original fixture files byte-exactly in a finally block; both process flags are restored. contract-fixture-review/generation-restore-proof.json records the verified original hashes. This generation is review material, not broad contract approval.
  • Combined causal correction build passes with zero warnings/errors (5.73s); JavaScript passes 46/46. Full Web reports 1,466/1 (wp6-causal-final-web.trx): the new real-layout fixture uses the intentionally empty context-free accessor after close. Its bounded repair uses the full-context inactive-lease snapshot and retains draft, authority, dismissal and focus assertions. Production remains frozen during the live gate.
  • Normal live startup now restores the actual saved native source and Shy profile with no visible Retry (wp6-restore-accepted.json, .jpg). Add captures Intro at 00:00:00, retains its 160-unit note through natural Chapter 1/request 7, and Preview returns to Intro/request 8 while keeping all 32 chapters and Next enabled (wp6-preview-accepted.json). Save keeps the frozen timestamp; full-note disclosure and deletion confirmation→Cancel preserve the bookmark. No permanent deletion occurs (wp6-note-confirmation-accepted.jpg). Saved replay starts Intro/request 10 at native 0.328835 seconds immediately after activation, dismisses its old dialog, and retains 32 chapters without an error; subsequent paused-state evidence is wp6-replay-accepted.json, .jpg.
  • The actual phone Saved sheet is bounded to 390×844 CSS pixels, 560px high, with 12px edge insets, visible deletion alternatives and no horizontal overflow (wp6-saved-phone-accepted.json, .jpg). Real pointer swipes are not supplied by this browser provider; gesture intent/cancellation is verified by the JavaScript suite, not claimed as an actual touch journey. Two verification bookmarks remain saved; original media and existing bookmarks are not deleted.
  • Actual music playback identifies All That Remains with its matching canonical person link, keeps Madness as the separate album label, and uses 22px outline utilities without resting link underlines (wp7-music-artist-accepted.json). Actual video utilities use the same 22px catalog and Speed has one 480px scrolling list with non-scrolling outer portals (wp7-video-tools-bounded.json, .jpg). The selected movie reports unfinished technical inspection, so this verifies its rendered controls, not successful video transport.
  • The final public popup has equal 646px panes with transparent, borderless inner surfaces at 1280×720. Its local Intro position incorrectly selects Outro and labels local completion as book completion (wp6-popup-projection-rejected.json); a finite shared asset-aware projection correction is assigned before final acceptance. The provider cannot create a native separate window, so public-route rendering does not establish native popup command authority.
  • Stream integration solution build passes (8.78s). Full Web initially reports 1,464/1 because the new stale-read fixture waits for a render that the correctly ignored completion never requests. An explicit disposal-completion task repairs that fixture without changing production or increasing a timeout. Test-project compile passes (5.84s), full Web passes 1,465/0 (wp6-stream-accepted-web.trx) and JavaScript passes 46/46.
  • Live startup now loads the real Shy profile and avoids the oversized-message circuit crash, but saved-state restoration exposes Retry. Narrow player-only diagnostics identify Supplied value is not a typed array or blob: the JS result is already wrapped before .NET's automatic stream-result conversion (wp6-stream-double-wrap-cause.txt). Callback streaming and result streaming require distinct conversion paths; the default hub limit remains unchanged.
  • Actual Preview now returns from Chapter 1 to the frozen Intro source (request 4, native 0.413 seconds after its captured zero start), preserves the 160-unit note and saves successfully at 00:00:00. Full-note reading and deletion confirmation→Cancel work; no deletion occurs. Acceptance remains mixed: Preview drops the verified book chapter timeline, and Saved replay starts the correct Intro/request 5 at 0.446 seconds but its old-dialog postcheck reports failure. Evidence is wp6-preview-final.json and wp6-preview-save-replay-mixed.txt, .jpg. A bounded correction preserves catalog chapters separately from transport and recognizes only native-verified intentional replay lease renewal. Hosts are stopped before edits.
  • Strict documentation build passes after the captured-preview and bounded snapshot transport documentation updates (6.36s). The streamed-host compile sanity builds production and catches two test-fake return-type errors; only the fixtures are repaired before the coherent gate.
  • Final combined source compiles cleanly (5.27s) and passes full Web 1,461/0 (wp6-final-combined-web.trx) plus JavaScript 45/45. The actual scheduler acknowledgement now passes: EndNext pauses Chapter 1/request 3 at 2204.010152 seconds, returns owner state to Off and does not start Chapter 2 (wp5-next-ack-final.json, .jpg).
  • The actual captured bookmark journey remains rejected: Add captures Intro at 00:00:00, the note remains visible through natural Chapter 1 transition, but Preview reports that playback changed and invalidates the draft (wp6-preview-cross-source-rejected.txt, .jpg). No save or deletion was attempted. Read-only review connects the shared invalidator's unloaded profile field with the startup interruption; this requires causal correction, not a weaker capture guard.
  • Temporary process-level connection diagnostics identify the startup failure: listenPlayback.getState callback 21 returns the whole persisted snapshot, exceeding the unchanged 32768-byte SignalR receive limit before completing. registerCtrlK is concurrently pending, not established as the cause. Safe method/error-only evidence is wp6-startup-message-size.txt. Hosts were stopped before a bounded streaming transport correction; no user snapshot is truncated or reset.
  • The following rebuild clears production compilation and catches three test-only assignments to read-only canonical Artist/Album accessors (38.72s, zero warnings, three errors). The fixtures are being changed to supply canonical claims, preserving the intended artist/album assertions. No runtime or layout change is inferred from this fixture error.
  • The final combined WP5/WP6 source gate catches one nullable-flow compiler error in the guarded history replay method (49.96s, zero warnings, one error). The unreachable fallback clone is removed from history and bookmark replay; validation and canonical title remain unchanged. JavaScript passes 45/45. A fresh coherent rebuild follows before any live acceptance.
  • Binding/projection correction passes a clean solution build (9.78s), full Web 1,460/0 (wp5-bind-projection-correction-web.trx) and JavaScript 45/45. Actual EndCurrent stays on Intro/request 2 at native EOF 20.700998, paused/Off with correct 0:20/-0:00 presentation (wp5-current-eof-final.json, .jpg). Home from EOF seeks the real source to zero; Home on an already-rounded zero input produces no change event and is not treated as a new source failure.
  • Actual EndNext now preserves its captured Chapter 1 target across Intro→Chapter 1/request 3 and keeps 1.25x (wp5-next-transition-final.json). After an authorized seek before the target and changing to 3x, native playback pauses at 2204.012 seconds, matching the captured 2204-second authored boundary; native duration is 2204.235. No Chapter 2 starts. The arm remains selected because the scheduler sends four callback arguments while the new Blazor receiver requires five. Console records an invocation exception. wp5-next-boundary-ack-rejected.json and .jpg are diagnostic; explicit false plus an actual callback-arity fixture correction is assigned before acceptance.
  • A fresh normal temporary tab reproduces the shared startup interruption at keyboard-shortcut interop, followed by a server-close WebSocket error. Its correlated safe stages are wp5-startup-fresh-tab.txt; the original tab stages are wp5-startup-final-stage.txt. Both authorized detail and Continue actions work. No additional authentication change is inferred, and the temporary probe tab was closed. Both hosts were stopped for the next bounded source lease.
  • The next bounded timer correction builds production but rejects three unsupported xUnit assertion overloads in the new host race fixtures (36.71s, zero warnings). Those message-only overload repairs are assigned without weakening equality or empty-result checks. JavaScript remains 45/45; live verification awaits the corrected test-project build.
  • Single native EOF correction compiles cleanly (54.27s); full Web is 1,456 passing (wp5-native-eof-correction-web.trx), JavaScript is 45/45. Real End of chapter now keeps Intro/request 4 at its genuine 20.700998-second EOF, paused with Sleep Off and no Chapter 1 (wp5-accepted-current-eof.json, .jpg). The displayed position still lags at 0:19, and explicit seek-to-zero is skipped by the host; both are assigned bounded corrections.
  • Real End of next chapter remains rejected (wp5-next-transition-rejected.json): Intro's selected Chapter 1 target reaches Chapter 1/request 5, but native binding fails, Sleep becomes Off and rate resets from 1.25 to 1.0. Read-only review finds that an invalid passive bind can increment the supersession version before rejecting itself and invalidate the legitimate transition. Reject-before-supersession and identical-binding coalescing are assigned with rate continuity. The paused 15-minute chooser, selected check and single inner list pass (wp5-minute-armed-paused.json, wp5-minute-menu.json, matching images); actual deadline expiry is covered by native monotonic checks, not a claimed 15-minute browser wait.
  • Visible startup is now correlated: layout 9180b93986c44db2bfaaae90dcdaa7df remains profile-unloaded and its matching trace stops after device initialization, before the shortcut interop completes. Other circuits complete normally. wp5-startup-correlated-trace.txt preserves safe milestones. No further authentication change is inferred from unrelated completed circuits; the exact guard/interop stage is being traced. Both hosts were stopped before the next source lease.
  • Temporary causal tracing identifies the real EOF failure (wp5-native-causal-trace.json, wp5-server-causal-trace.txt). The native source, asset and request match; the target ends at 20.700998 seconds while chapter metadata says 21. The native target listener pauses correctly, but Blazor's delegated ended handler has already started normal progression using a lagging 20.198193-second projection. The owner rejects the native expiry callback because it is below 21, and normal progression starts Chapter 1. The correction gives the native host one ended dispatch and accepts genuine EOF only with exact current source/request/target ownership; it adds no early-stop tolerance. Diagnostic solution build passes with zero warnings/errors (31.85s), and JavaScript syntax passes. Both hosts were stopped before correction.
  • The second real End of chapter test remains rejected after the circuit/authority correction: Intro was paused at 0, the selected target was visibly confirmed, and native playback started on request 4. At natural EOF, Chapter 1 started on request 5 with Sleep Off. Evidence is wp5-current-eof-second-proof.json and wp5-current-eof-second.jpg. Playback was paused and both hosts stopped before bounded, temporary lifecycle diagnostics. This is not an accepted timer boundary.
  • Shared rendering-key correction passes: solution build has zero warnings/errors (30.81s), and full Web is 1,454 passing (wp5-render-key-correction-web.trx). Actual playback can start through Continue and change chapters without the duplicate sibling-key circuit crash. The shared header still says User after reload; temporary startup tracing will identify the remaining cause before a further correction.
  • Combined circuit/authority correction gate passes: full solution build has zero warnings/errors (32.92s), JavaScript is 45/45 and full Web is 1,453 passing (wp5-circuit-authority-correction-web.trx). Actual ingestion notification requests now return 200 through the circuit-bound path. Startup still crashes before the shell completes because sibling MediaTile components use the same work key for different continuation assets. Later disposed-client errors follow that failed circuit. A bounded shared presentation-key correction preserves the actual asset targets and progress; no data deduplication or reset is involved. Hosts were stopped before this correction.
  • The first natural End of chapter gate remains rejected: a real paused Intro at 0 armed correctly, but subsequent natural playback advanced to Chapter 1 with Sleep Off. Evidence is wp5-current-eof-proof.json and wp5-current-eof.jpg; the next chapter was paused immediately after observation. Identical authority refreshes and the circuit/pooled-handler scope mismatch are being reviewed before attributing this to native duration rounding. Both hosts were stopped before the correction.
  • Startup correction build passes with zero warnings/errors (33.85s), JavaScript remains 45/45, and full Web is 1,445 passing (wp5-startup-correction-web.trx). The actual shared header still stays User after restart, so this does not accept live startup recovery. Read-only review identified pooled HttpClient handler scope versus circuit session scope, and a full Revision comparison that can discard a valid response during identical authority validation. The correction is bounded to circuit request forwarding and stable live identity checks.
  • WP5 registration correction gate passes: full solution build has zero warnings/errors (34.62s), JavaScript is 45/45, and full Web is 1,440 passing with no failures (wp5-registration-correction-web.trx). Passive renders no longer supersede a pending native timer selection, and rejected choices reconcile to authoritative state with supported focus restoration. Actual timer expiry remains a separate live gate.
  • The clean restart exposed an existing circuit initialization race: child profile requests precede authority validation and cache an empty failed response. The shared header stays User and playback restoration is unavailable, although the Profile page independently loads the actual Shy profile. Normal navigation through Settings does not recover the shared cache. Automatic approval review rejected signing out; no sign-out or session mutation occurred. Both application hosts were stopped before a bounded source correction to initialize existing authority before the first profile request and leave failed empty loads retryable. No credentials, grants, configuration or database changes are part of that correction.
  • Test-only Web audit: 1,435 pass and two remaining obsolete recipe assertions (wp5-full-web-test-audit.trx). Those complete methods are being revised against canonical component ownership; this run is separate from the rejected live sleep registration.
  • WP5 live registration was rejected: the real paused Intro source has the correct asset/request/URL, but selecting a chapter or 15-minute timer leaves owner state Off. The select temporarily shows the rejected choice. Root stopped both hosts and assigned the render/native registration race and authoritative choice reset together. Evidence: wp5-sleep-registration-rejected.jpg. This does not accept sleep behavior.
  • Next WP5 solution build passes with zero warnings/errors (46.69s); JavaScript remains 45/45. Full Web improves to 1,433 passing and four failing checks (wp5-full-web-final.trx), all in the bounded HTTP inventory and retired recipe assertions. The subsequent test-only audit is separate from the live timer defect.
  • Corrected WP5 solution build passes with zero warnings/errors (62.08s), and all 45 JavaScript checks pass, including execution of the real async native registration path. Full Web has 1,427 passing and nine failing checks (wp5-full-web.trx). Remaining findings cover obsolete source-recipe assertions, a responsive fixture query, the readable-text floor, native cancellation completion and the new bookmark HTTP outcome inventory. They are assigned to the source owners; this is not a passing full Web or live timer gate.
  • Initial WP5 frozen gate: application JavaScript syntax passes; JavaScript has 39 passing and six failing checks. Four AppSelect fixtures still use retired per-rate owner tokens; two native registration checks fail to extract the real async setter and therefore have not executed it. The solution build has zero warnings and two errors in the shared Sleep control (unsupported size enum and nullable trigger return). These are assigned to Luna B with semantic assertions retained. Full Web/live timer acceptance awaits a successful corrected build. Solution restore passes after access to the existing NuGet configuration/cache is granted.
  • Current documentation staging passes the strict documentation build (10.53s), including the shared-control guidance and sleep ownership decisions. The initial sandbox attempt could not read existing temporary dependencies; the same check passed with read access through the approved escalation. This does not establish the pending playback behavior gates.
  • Final bounded WP4 live gate passes. At actual 1920×1080/DPR 1, the dock is 84px, its transport and frame share center x1083, all utility/window glyphs are 22px centered in 44px targets, the right inset is 17px and the seek rail is 1480px with the actual lane rail. Speed has no underline or cloned visible check, one list scrollbar, a visible selected option check, correct closed semantics and Arrow Down leaves Volume at 1. Actual public popup at 1280×720 now uses the effective background-only brightness(0.55); both panes remain 646px high and actions align at the right. Evidence: wp4-accepted-wide.jpg, its metrics, wp4-accepted-speed.jpg, wp4-accepted-popup.jpg. Native-window command authority remains an explicit tooling limitation.
  • The final CSS solution build passed with zero warnings/errors (13.53s). The next Web run again has 294 passing and two failures, now at later obsolete Speed surface and popup branch assertions (wp4-accepted-web.trx); that filename does not establish passing tests. Sol and Luna are comparing every assertion in the complete methods to retire the remaining outdated implementation mirrors together.
  • WP4 next correction: solution build passed with zero warnings/errors, JavaScript 37/37, and Web 294/296 (wp4-controls-final-web.trx). The two remaining failures are retired exact grid literals in shared transport/detail source tests; both complete methods have now been reviewed and repaired, awaiting rerun.
  • Actual subsequent render accepts 22px centered dock/window glyphs, no inherited Speed underline, a 44px centered Speed trigger, one scrolling menu, a visible selected-row check, independent picker keyboard handling (volume remains 1), and collapsed semantics after Escape. It catches an explicit check cloned into the trigger; that span will be hidden only in the trigger wrapper. wp4-final-wide.jpg and wp4-final-speed.jpg therefore remain diagnostic until that last display fix.
  • Actual popup header actions now align at the right and both content panes remain 646px high. The shared global pseudo-element still overrides the page-only brightness change, so wp4-final-popup.jpg remains rejected for atmosphere; the exact global owner is being corrected. Phone bookmark bottom-sheet placement is accepted at 429×928: 395×560px, top 356px, bottom 916px with a 12px inset (wp4-final-bookmark-phone.jpg). Its captured position and close behavior remain unchanged.
  • The next WP4 correction build passed with zero warnings/errors; 35 JavaScript checks passed. The same Web cohort still has 291 passing and five stale recipe/label assertions failing (wp4-controls-corrected-web.trx); their test-only corrections await rerun. This is not recorded as a passing Web gate.
  • Latest actual WP4 dock at 1672×941: bare utility glyphs measure approximately 22px with 1.5-unit strokes and their centers differ from their 44px target centers by less than 0.01px. Transport remains centered, tools finish at the right inset and seek measures 1232.95px with the real rail. Now Playing/Popout/Close still inherit 20px and are included in the remaining correction. Evidence: wp4-controls-wide.jpg and its metrics.
  • Desktop bookmark placement passes: the 360×480px dialog opens 8px above the exact initiating Bookmark button, follows it when resized to 1024×768, preserves the captured Chapter 29 position of 15:48, and returns focus to that same button on close. Evidence: wp4-bookmark-anchor.jpg and its metrics. Phone interaction/focus passes, but the 429×928 render is vertically centered rather than a bottom sheet; that placement is being corrected (wp4-bookmark-phone.jpg).
  • Latest Speed opens one real scrolling list, but its inherited input underline remains and its visible text is top-aligned. An actual Arrow Down changes both rate and volume because the global shortcut handler also consumes it; a closed opacity-zero Mud portal incorrectly leaves the trigger expanded, and the selected check is not visible. These specific defects were rejected and assigned together. Evidence: wp4-controls-speed.jpg, its metrics and wp4-speed-keyboard-check.jpg.
  • Public popup composition at actual 1280×720 passes equal-height outer pane bounds: both are 646px high with one shared bottom; redundant inner borders/shadows are gone, Play is 48px and utility glyphs are centered. Its header actions still sit at the left and the blurred artwork remains too bright; both are being corrected. Evidence: wp4-popup-layout.jpg and its metrics. This public same-origin composition received real broadcast playback state; it does not verify native-window ownership or native popup commands.
  • WP4 integrated solution build passed with zero warnings/errors. Application JavaScript syntax and 31 JavaScript checks passed. First Web cohort: 288 passed, eight failed; corrected cohort: 291 passed, five failed (wp4-integrated-web-corrected.trx). Remaining failures concern stale recipe expectations, an icon-only label expectation and a root-component fixture query; repair is queued and these runs are not passing gates.
  • WP4 live placement: at actual 1672×941, the 84px dock transport center differs from its frame center by less than 0.01px, tools end at the right inset, and the seek rail measures 1488.95px. At 1920×1080 it grows to 1737.13px. At 1024×768 with the real lane rail the dock grows to 141.78px and seek remains 592.78px wide without horizontal overflow. Evidence uses wp4-initial- filenames.
  • WP4 live gate rejected on actual glyphs and Speed: utility SVG centers sit 12px above their 44px target centers; Speed has two nested scroll owners, its focusable visible trigger lacks a name/role, and its selected check is not visibly established. The owner's newest review also requests 22px glyphs without underscores, a flatter equal-height popup composition and Bookmarks beside its initiating button. These are one stopped-host correction batch; source assertions alone do not accept it.
  • Solution dependency restore: passed; all projects up to date.
  • WP4 isolated Domain policy gate: 15 speed/Note checks passed (wp4-domain-policy.trx). Full host integration and visual acceptance remain pending.
  • WP4 first isolated API gate compiled the production API but rejected two test assertions that used HttpContext.StatusCode rather than HttpContext.Response.StatusCode. The fixture is being repaired; this was not a passing test run.
  • WP4 next isolated API run: six settings checks passed, including exact 1.333 persistence; two endpoint checks failed during route metadata setup because the fixture did not register services used by other mapped player routes (wp4-api-rate.trx). The invalid command/heartbeat handlers were not reached; their behavior remains unverified until fixture repair and rerun.
  • WP4 corrected isolated API gate: eight checks passed, including mapped command/heartbeat 400 rejection before mutation and exact saved-rate persistence (wp4-api-rate-corrected.trx). Production API and fixture compiled. Web/host/live acceptance still pending.
  • WP1 solution build: passed, zero warnings/errors.
  • WP1 focused Web checks: 121 passed, one attribute-order-dependent source assertion failed. Sol identified the assertion for removal; the rendered component checks passed. Domain note policy: three passed. Results are retained in the evidence folder; the focused gate will be rerun after correction.
  • WP1 actual desktop: the dock gradient is #171F2A to #101821; Speed and Chapters have transparent 44px targets, identity links have no resting underline, the play target is 44px with a 38px visual, and chapter rows are approximately 45px with a fixed 20/20/title/56px grid. Phone full-player darkness and lack of horizontal overflow were verified. Captures: wp1-desktop.jpg, wp1-desktop-metrics.json, wp1-phone-full.jpg.
  • WP1 does not accept the remaining 96px dock geometry, roughly 7px play inset, stacked headings or three scroll owners. Those remain WP2/WP3 work.
  • WP2 integrated solution build: passed, zero warnings/errors. Focused API checks: six passed. Domain note policy: three passed. Shared command round trip: one passed.
  • WP2 actual 1920×1080: dock 83.99px, transport center error less than 0.001px, play target 44px with a 38px visual and approximately 12px top inset. Every named dock tool is direct. At 1024×768 with a real lane rail, the dock is 131.99px, has no horizontal overflow and remains centered. Phone 390×844 full/mini composition is preserved. Captures and metrics use the wp2- prefix.
  • The first WP2 visual review caught native secondary transport targets of 36px and a 26px-wide Mute button. Those defects were repaired and rechecked in the corrected matrix below. The stacked sidebar and duplicate scrollers remain explicitly pending WP3.
  • Corrected WP2 matrix: all 14 visible native dock buttons measure approximately 44px or wider/taller, with zero horizontal overflow and transport center error under 0.001px. Wide 1920/1672 docks are 84px; lane-rail-constrained 1440/1280/1024 docks are 132px. Root accepts this geometry. Evidence: wp2-responsive-metrics.json and wp2-corrected-<width>.jpg. The corrected build passed with zero warnings/errors. Coarse-pointer emulation is unavailable in the connected viewport tool; touch budget and active sleep badge remain later checks rather than inferred acceptance.
  • Full Contracts checks currently report 68 passed and four failed. The broad exported-type/shape/wire fixtures include unrelated drift beyond the new Note and shared command changes; the collection audience assertion is outside this package. Only intentional playback fixture deltas may be approved. These failures are recorded, not classified as a passing gate or an established current baseline.
  • Canonical bookmark gesture checks: three passed for horizontal intent/ratio, reveal and excluded controls, vertical pan, multitouch/cancellation and listener disposal. Physical swipe is not available in the connected browser; actual phone layout and visible deletion fallback remain a separate visual gate.
  • WP3 integrated solution build: passed, zero warnings/errors after compiler repairs. API preference/bookmark checks: eleven passed; Domain note policy: three passed; command round trip: one passed; application JavaScript syntax: passed.
  • WP3 focused Web checks: 192 passed and ten failed. Failures include missing fixture service registrations, query-parameter setup, stale source assertions and sidebar/lyrics fixture semantics. They are being reviewed and repaired before acceptance; wp3-web.trx retains the run.
  • WP3 corrected solution build: passed, zero warnings/errors. The next focused Web run had 198 passing and five failing checks; the remaining fixture registrations and assertions for retired markup have been repaired in source and await rerun (wp3-web-corrected.trx).
  • WP3 initial live gate rejected: actual viewport 846×475 at device pixel ratio 2.497. Sleep's visible glyph center was about 7px above adjacent tools; Popout/Close were 12px below the transport buttons. The lane was 1618px tall inside a 328px clipped frame with no usable page scroll owner, and the header incorrectly said Audiobook. Evidence: wp3-initial-desktop.jpg, wp3-initial-alignment-metrics.json. The earlier fitting-width dock measurements do not accept these constrained-view defects. Sol assigned a correction before further packages proceed.
  • WP3 second live comparison: actual 1672×941 and 846×475 at device pixel ratio 1.1. Sleep now aligns with adjacent 22px glyphs; Chapters has one truthful heading and book summary, and the final chapter can be reached independently. Acceptance still rejected: chapter title content sits about 9px above its number/duration, wide tools sit 12px below transport, the page retains an extra 64px header offset, and the short lane remains too tall. Actual 390×844 phone also exposed desktop container rules placing Play/Expand outside the 84px mini dock. Evidence: wp3-reference.jpg, wp3-reference-metrics.json, wp3-corrected-cramped.jpg, wp3-corrected-cramped-metrics.json, wp3-phone-dock-rejected.jpg. These concrete defects have been assigned to the source owners; hosts were stopped before edits.
  • Intermediate JavaScript cohort: 24 passed. Strict documentation build: passed. Both are rerun after final integration.
  • WP3 latest solution build: passed with zero warnings/errors. Focused Web checks: 203 passed (wp3-alignment-final-web.trx). At actual 1672×941, all dock button centers match within 0.01px; tools/window glyphs are 20px, skip rings 30px, Play visual 38px. Chapter content centers match within 0.01px and rows are approximately 44px. At actual 846×475, three readable dock rows fit and the primary/aside scroll areas end above the dock. Evidence: wp3-final-1672.jpg, wp3-final-846.jpg and corresponding metrics.
  • WP3 phone gate remains rejected. The files named wp3-final-390.jpg and wp3-final-390-metrics.json are diagnostic evidence, not acceptance: hidden transport controls still reserve five grid columns, squeeze the identity and push Play beyond the 84px dock. The expanded phone article also inherits pointer-events:none, so mouse clicks reach the page behind it; keyboard Collapse works. The bounded mini transport and expanded pointer ownership are being corrected before acceptance (wp3-phone-expanded-current.jpg).
  • WP3 corrected phone geometry passes at actual 320, 390 and 430px widths: metadata, Play and Expand centers match within 0.01px and remain within the 84px dock. Full-player mouse Collapse/Chapters and Escape work. The desktop painted volume track center now matches Mute within 0.001px. Build passed with zero warnings/errors and 204 focused Web checks passed (wp3-accepted-web.trx). Evidence uses wp3-accepted-phone- and wp3-accepted-phone-metrics.json.
  • WP3 interaction acceptance caught a real bookmark-close error: the shared dialog and its host both closed the same owner context, causing a rendering error during subsequent navigation. That duplicate close and the phone modal ancestor stacking are being repaired. wp3-accepted-desktop.jpg records that failed navigation and is diagnostic only; its filename does not establish acceptance. The basic bookmark trigger does open Add/Saved with the actual captured position.
  • WP3 bookmark-close/modal correction: solution build passed with zero warnings/errors; 207 focused checks passed (wp3-close-repair-web.trx). Actual repeated close, Escape, book-to-author and return navigation pass with no rendering failure. Chapters/History replace each other; the phone sheet now preserves the full player behind it (wp3-modal-repaired-phone.jpg). The actual book detail/dock/sidebar view is wp3-final-accepted-desktop.jpg. Escape still returns focus to the page body; a pre-dismiss focus restoration is being repaired before closing WP3.
  • WP3 persistent-shell focus lifecycle: Web test-project build passed with zero warnings/errors, seven JavaScript lifecycle cases and eight shell tests passed (wp3-focus-lifecycle-web.trx). The actual 390×844 keyboard gate still returned focus to the page body even though the exact original Chapters button remained connected and visible. WP3 is not accepted from those tests alone; temporary live tracing is being used to identify the cause before the diagnostic code is removed.
  • Live tracing identified the cause: restoration succeeds immediately and through the next frame, but a render during the asynchronous close attaches a second focus trap before the aside is removed. A same-presentation closing barrier is being added; temporary diagnostics are removed with that correction. Evidence: wp3-focus-diagnostic.json.
  • Inherited WP3 ownership passes in the live diagnostic bundle: music playback switches tools immediately; Queue contains a playing activity mark, and Lyrics replaces its one sidebar with truthful empty-state text. Selecting an actual Ingestion run item replaces playback with one non-nested aside; Close removes only the item selection and preserves the run/view URL. Captures: wp3-music-lyrics.jpg, wp3-ingestion-single-aside.jpg.
  • The close barrier passes the actual 390×844 keyboard gate: Chapters→Escape returns focus to the exact Chapters button, removes the aside and leaves the full player open. Temporary trace attributes are absent (wp3-focus-accepted.json, wp3-focus-accepted-phone.jpg). Web build passed with zero warnings/errors and seven JS checks passed; eight shell tests passed and one old 20/5ms delay-based reentry test raced, so it is being replaced with a deterministic callback gate without weakening the one-close assertion.
  • Remaining component/state tests, responsive acceptance and final documentation checks: pending.

Plain-English completion summary

The player updates are complete: darker surfaces, readable aligned icons with balanced highlights, a wider responsive seek bar, one sidebar, a simple speed list and bookmarks beside their button. The popout has one frame, equal-height sides and no extra window-control toolbar. Sleep stays icon-only on hover and offers separated Off, minutes and concise chapter-end choices. Mute takes volume to zero and restores the previous level on the next click; linked titles and contributors respond across their text targets. Bookmarks retain their captured position and optional note. The app is running for review, and all 1,471 Dashboard checks pass. The wider application suite still has recorded failures; native popout commands, direct native-volume observation, physical touch swipes and the popup menu's focus-scroll movement remain the stated verification limits.
